Cookie Killers
7-2-15
Sugarcookies steal away inhibitions –
I shouldn’t have them –
And cloud my mind with sugarcrumbs:
I can’t think of anything else.
But...
This pancreas can’t produce enough
Life-saving insulincells;
Not even on a normal day.
On a sugarcookieday the process halts –
Insulindependent cells halt –
And my diabetes begins to rolecall the cells
Into positions to kill.

At first, I thought this would be a story about people killing cookies by eating them. Now, I see that they kill each other; the person kills the cookie by eating it, and the cookie kills the person by their diabetes. An interesting read, and quite a fun play on words (well... at least my interpretation of the title, anyways. ).
