Failure to Hide
~The Light of Your Warmth~
3 Light
19-05-08
(For Genevieve Langdon; quotes taken from breeze between my teeth by Effamay)
She hides behind walls of solid-numbness,
Emanating a black cold
That permeates her soul:
Freezing her in...
Freezing others out.
But you cant be frozen.
You sit with her:
With your warmth radiating like upon her unlikable cold,
Bringing light into her dark,
And the simple touch of your voice
Is enough to thaw her for a moment.
And even though she freezes up again
Until the next time,
She always remembers your kindness,
And your illuminating warmth...
And she tries to respond.
*** *** *** *** ***
She conceals herself within words of no meaning,
Lying smiles, plastic faces and recorded laughs
Follow her through her day:
Holding her in...
Pushing others out.
But you wont be pushed.
You sit beside her:
Asking questions requiring (f)actual answers,
And while she sm(lie)s you are there...
Or when she cries you are there...
Even when she honestly speaks you stay there.
Wanting to listen,
You are enough to expose her heart for a moment.
And even though she takes a millennium to answer,
Seconds of silence are enough to murder
Any ideas she has of lying.
So she speaks...
Freely.
Your quiet patience is enough,
To enable her to speak,
Freely.

How much do you actually see, or are you just not bothered to look?
