I Miss Him Too
5-9-15

Today marks six years since my granddad died,
And though we weren’t so close, It’s you I see
Holding back your tears now, for then you cried,
For time has moved and ‘llowed you time to grieve.
Though grieving comes, I know the pain – it stays –
Growing stronger as you remember him
And all you’ve lost since that horrific day,
I know some days it hurts for you to grin
And bear it to save us the pain of you
Collapsing, as I know you feel you could.
For there’s always more that one needs to do,
And more to take our time, as true it should.
Remember, though I seem just to not feel,
I miss him too and love you a great deal.
A sonnet serving three purposes.
1) To my mother, who remembers the passing of my grandad (her father) on this day.
2) ProjectDFC 's "Send a Sonnet September" Send a Sonnet September 2015! It's BACK!
3) My-Soul-Bleeds-Ink 's Poetry Forms Challenge New Forms Challenge

My Sonnet Form:
Shakespearean Sonnet
The style created by William Shakespeare, this is the most commonly written and known of all sonnet styles. It features 3 quatrains and a couplet with the rhyme scheme abab/cdcd/efef/gg respectively. This is done in iambic pentameter.

(I think my meter is off in some places, but once again for me its the thought behind it that is what I found most important.)
