Hell and brimstone raining down
Upon this hapless, helpless soul.

I know I deserve it;
I chartered my course straight
Through Hell's fiery gates.
My choices paving a path
Bright with brimstone.

In their eyes I saw condemnation,
Judgement,
The unanswerable - 'How could you?'

In your eyes I saw salvation;
Heaven still loved me, you said,
No matter how smelly my soul
Or helplessly hapless my heart.

I know I deserved it;
But you helped me plot my course
More carefully and calculated.
You helped me pave a path
With possibilities and hope.

In your eyes there was no condemnation.
No judgement.
Just love.
