I’m missin a limb, I’m missin a part
Of me body – no lies, ‘twas eaten by sharks
Off the Port of Belmona; they were ‘ungry beasts
And me leg, well it offered a wholesome good feast.

But here be the trick, aye, here’s the rub,
I ain’t sitting around like a drunk in a pub
Bemoanin me fate and beggin for stuff…
Me leg’s grown itself back, and if that weren’t enough,

It’s grown back larger, too large for this gimp,
And so now I perpetually walk with a limp.
But I’m not complainin, not me, oh no sir,
‘Cos me leg growin back has caused this old cur

To wallow in riches beyond what a man
Can lawfully wallow, I own me own land.
I’m the man with the wondrous regeneratin leg –
I don’t have to walk around with no peg –

And ‘cos of me riches, I’ve gone from a bum
To a damn fine lookin and filthy rich piece of scum.
But, though dressed in bright colours and all manner of silk,
Once a man is a pirate he can’t change his ilk.
