A horribly painful day:
The curtains slam closed
On the infinitesimally tiny ray of sunlight
That was weakly illuminating her dark and dusty mind.
And once those curtains close?
Once they close
The ANTs come with deadbolts and padlocks:
Ensuring her captivity in darkness,
As they close yet another path to light...
...
Darkness come,
She holds you ready:
Take her home.

A torturously painful day:
Her eggshell facade cracks a little more;
She breaks inside while trying to look strong.
A zombie with darkness in her smile and
Pain in her eyes,
She continues walking;
Fragile, broken, falling to pieces:
Ensuring her loss
As the ANTs rejoice at her fall into the darkness...
...
She is broken,
Too broken to fight on:
Darkness come and make her whole.

With the pathways to light locked,
What can she do but sit, blade at hand?
Ready and waiting to open a final path
To her darkness.
The darkness she knows she is:
Herself, her dark, her only home;
Her peace, her love, what makes her whole.
