Please Hurt

I've never had roses, but I've held hearts.
I've wished and prayed that forever will last.
Digital kisses never happen to me,
Unless they're from friends or family.
There were many proclamations, of love true and deep,
That left me with nothing but bitter tears to weep.
Maybe there is no forever for me,
Nobody who'll love this ugly body.
I sit here and wonder, why am I cursed?
What is it about me that proclaims 'please hurt'?
I am a shell, a fallen egg from a tree.
Why is there nobody who will ever love me.
