Scarlet Gasps
[10 Breathe]

How many times has she sat,
Alone
, While she breathes a raging trickle of blood,
That S L I

E S
Like a scarlet serpent across her skin.
The suffocating clouds hold her captive;
Forever, it seems, they have...
Forever, it seems, they will.
She drowns in her prison;
She suffocates and drowns
As they watch and smile,
While she struggles for breath
Within a world breathing easy.
For a while her burning scars
Breathe for her.
Their blood her only oxygen;
Her only way to stay afloat.
But times come spryly and oft,
When their shallow scarlet breaths
Cannot suffice...
And she struggles to survive.
How many times has she sat...
Wondering if she should make this scarlet gasp,
Her last.

How much do you actually see, or are you just not bothered to look?
