-    Healing (Medium level – can fully heal small cuts and grazes, larger wounds only partially heal, severe wounds are not affected. Cannot bring someone back to life.)
-    Potions (Intermediate level – knows how to brew, simmer etc (like a cook) and potions work roughly 60% of the time. Only tried minor offensive potions/defensive potions, most of her work is with ‘appearance/emotion altering’ potions like love potions or something that will change the colour of your hair. Needs and wants to learn more.)
-    Some minor spells and incantations (Low level/Beginner – has tried some basic incantations/spells and mastered very few (the one leading to Sefer being one of them). They most often don’t work at all or do very minor applications of what they were supposed to do, e.g. a spell to produce a fireball might only produce a spark or nothing at all. Personality:
Genevieve is a bit social phobic, preferring to read or listen to someone speak, but can speak on topics she feels are ‘safe’ or that she knows a lot about. She is less inclined to initiate a conversation, but her responses are always to the point and very specific. She is a bit of an empath, very attuned to people’s emotions and emotional wellbeing. She has a lot of empathy and sympathy. Though she can fight, with a dagger and her acidic blood, she prefers more of a pacifistic approach and will try negotiating first. Her powers are really a ‘last straw’ and more of a defence mechanism than an aggressive attack. She loves animals, most animals, hating only the small bugs/mice/spiders. She is intelligent and learns things quickly. While she doesn’t have an eidetic memory she does remember most things quite easily, and retains what she learns. She is brave enough to stand her ground if the need arises – she defends those she loves with a ferocity that is uncanny to her outward appearance for example. She loves books, reading and writing. She is naturally a very kind person.

History:
Genevieve Craon is the only daughter to a noble merchant of the Realm of the Dying Teacher with three sons, and the youngest child in the family. The pronunciation of her name is due to her mother’s fascination with the culture of the rival Perfected Nation, although she is not from there. Her mother thought these women were beautiful and sophisticated and so immersed herself in the Perfected culture from fashion to names. Her father, Thomas, brought her mother, Lucille, back with him from the neighbouring County of the Slaughter on his ship and they settled where he was based. They were married for three years before her first brother, George, was born. Gawain followed three years after that and Gordon the two years after that. It was another seven years before Genevieve was born, as her mother struggled to fall pregnant again. Her brothers are over-protective of their little sister, to the point of babying her, which she hates. She showed her intelligence at an early age and was saying her first word “mama” by the time she was one. She started walking soon after she started speaking. She is dignified and a lady and always walks never runs unless she absolutely has to. Her mother is good with healing and this gift passed on to her daughter, who also cultivated the gift of healing and potion making. Her father values intellect and when he saw how intelligent she was he paid for her education in writing, history, some geography, and some science, biology and music. Even though she is the youngest in her family she is no pushover. She loves reading/research/history and tends to become too ‘involved’ in what she is reading/doing and forget the time.  She is mildly good at brewing potions, but not that good at gardening. Witchiness runs in the women of her family, her brothers and father being relatively ‘normal’ people.
One day she was practicing her spells and an incantation went awry, causing a large staircase to appear before her. Ever the curious one, she stepped onto the staircase and began climbing – maybe hoping to meet someone interesting. She arrived in Sefer Library and immediately began exploring where she could – all those books, scrolls and words, who wouldn’t – and found herself immersed in the literature and illustrations. After many years of travelling to and from her world to Sefer (she perfected the ‘awry’ incantation) she decided to move there permanently and study as much as possible. It was time for her to spread her wings and become the witch she was supposed to be, and she couldn’t do that living under the shadow of her mother. Also, she was a ‘grown up’ and needed to do the adult thing and move from the house, unlike her brother Gordon who still lived at home.

-    Ashes is a long-haired grey cat. He is pretty average so far, and is about 500 years old (approximately 5 years in earth-cat-years). Loving and kind. Purrs a lot when scratched behind the ears. Loves attention and being picked up.
