Star Quarterback</u>

It was a game to him.
He planned his moves
As logically as if he was playing chess against a master.
He worked out his plays,
With the confidence of an American Football coach
Who knew that no opposing side
Would ever win against him.
He was the star of his own show:
The leading man,
The quarterback.

She begged him to stop,
But his cool head was boiling in rage
Thicker than soup.
She pleaded with him to stop hurting them,
But he considered her pleas un-germane:
Why should he listen to her,
He owned her.

He beat her as if she was an animal;
His fists flew until she cowered in the corner
Like a caged dog,
Blood forming a bushy tail between her legs.
He beat them too,
His babies.
It did not matter to him
If they warranted it;
What they had done was not germane – they
Deserved to be beaten.
They always deserved to be beaten.
Ok, so I read a book where the one character was abused. Sparked a very random dream and a couple of poetry themes.
