I find inspiration
in the darkest places;
those corners of my mind
where I am afraid to travel.
My muse is a vampire - it
cannot work in sunlight and happiness;
it feeds on emotional-wreckage
and sucks inspiration from my turmoil.
When depression darkens the day around me,
my muse rejoices and coughs up
a plethora of poetry.
When my heart is numb and cold
my muse sits
and tells stories by firelight;
finding its warmth in my frozen frame.
The times that I am desperately alone,
my muse cackles and spits out work
faster than fingers can type.
My muse is a vampire - it
enjoys the dark gloom of night;
rejoicing in the pain of my mind.
