Why is the importance of a visitor never understood
By the healthy who are wealthy; blessed with health so good?
To sit or lie in hospital with friends or folks from home…
Does anybody realise you feel forgotten and alone?

Do they stop to think that maybe the sick believe
That there is nobody out there, not one soul who sees
The hurt that needs healing or the wounds that need car?
Imagine for a moment the ache felt when no one’s there.

So if a family member, a loved one or a friend
End up needing hospitalisation, to help them put an end
To a physical or emotional wound that’s hurting dark and deep;
Remember that a visit’s most important in the healing of the weak.
