Poll Poetry

Hi y'all. Here's an update from me (and here I did one just two or so weeks ago...my my my )

First, personal:
My PC is working nicely, even though it did switch off the other night randomly.
It is coming up to October and my brain is subconsciously realising this and causing me problems in the mental health department. Cravings and plans, cravings and plans. But so far I am being strong and my counselor has made an extra appointment with me for September just to keep things in check, with the provision that I seek the help of my psychiatrist should it get very bad. I think I might manage.
More inane arguments with my sister getting to me. She lives in her own little world of 'happy' and doesn't see others or consider their feelings at all. Grumble grumble, groan groan.

Second, groups:

We are holding an October/Halloween contest and I am looking for prizes and judges. I only need two judges but they cannot win (they may enter for the fun of things if they wish).

We are also hosting an October/Halloween contest and I am looking for prizes and a judge (I already have one judge - judges may enter but cannot win). There has already been a nice prize or two donated for this contest, but the more the merrier.

We are looking for two things:
Mentors!

We are currently sitting with people waiting for adoption who have been there since I took over the group last year. Granted some are probably no longer active on DA but I can only know that if I pair them up with someone and they don't respond. I am particularly looking for mentors who like more than two genres (I get a lot of fantasy and sci-fi, but there are some waiting who have other likes) and at least one mentor who likes fan fiction as I know there is one mentee with fan fiction as their strong point. However, if you are a one genre, non-fan fiction person please don't hesitate to fill out the form anyway and wait your new pet mentee who will (hopefully) appreciate the time you are putting into the relationship and (hopefully) one day become a friend.

Admins!

We will be losing some of our admins at the end of August (i.e. tomorrow) for inactivity, leaving myself and KieWakakie with all the work on our shoulders once again. What are the duties of an admin?

Look through the threads in our back room where we post the submissions and suggest likely pairs to MagicalJoey who will send out the 'congratulations you are adopted/you have adopted' letters (as I have a system).
Promote the group in your own journals occasionally to get in more members, specifically mentors at this stage.

We are still looking for two things:
Prose entries to critique

We are running out of entries in our prose folder and the critics need something to do. Please help us out by mentioning us to people or submitting work yourself. REMEMBER to read our rules first.

Poetry Critics

With most of our critics having come in the time of prose-need we are now short on poetry critics. What do you have to do as a critic?

Commit to a minimum of two critiques per month (but the more the merrier)

REMEMBER you can still submit your own work to be critiqued by another critic.

Third, personal promotion:

I have several websites where my services are available. It is coming up to Christmas and there are several items that could make excellent unique gifts if you are inclined to buy gifts. There are beaded key rings (dogs, cats, rabbits, poodles, pink panthers, seals, penguins, pigs, teddies, hearts, crosses, bugs, dragonflies, angels, stars etc), knitted items (bedsocks, booties, jerseys, beanies, scarves, ponchos etc (there are more items than those listed on the site so don't hesitate to ask)) which would be of advantage during winter (all hand knitted, no machines) and range from new born to adult, and hand painted linen goods (pillowcases, tablecloths, cushions etc). I also can do proofreading should you need that done. There is also a business I run called Haystaxx which is in the business of supplying promotional girts and articles that have been printed or embroidered upon (for example embroidered towels or printed USB's). Fourth, the main reason for this journal:

I am going to participate in Nichrysalis 's Fixed Form Fiesta II - Poll Poetry and I need your help. I have created a poll with ten options, each being a line of the poem. I would like you to vote for your favourite line (you may choose more than one) and the order the poll gives me will be the order of the poem. So if line 5 gets more votes that line 1 then 5 will be before 1, in other words.
