Hello grasshoppers. I start a new job tomorrow...and am nervous...but I think it will be ok. I have new clothes, a new haircut and a new notebook. All new things for the new job. Finally going to be able to adult - like earn decent money and buy groceries and pay for medication/medical insurance. So, pray for good things like peace and a good night's sleep (if you're the praying kind) or just wish me luck/think of me (if you're not the praying kind). But all that aside, I have some things for you to look at. Pretty things, very pretty things.
Firstly, there are two polls I need to draw your attention to:
1) Ordinary-Writing 's contest poll.
Due to the group not being super, this poll is on my home page and can be found here: magicaljoey.deviantart.com/jou…
What are you voting for you may ask? Well, Ordinary-Writing recently held a June/July contest, and this poll has the entries in it. You are voting to decide who wins, who gets second and who gets third. So far (as of this journal being typed) there are only four votes...we need more! All it takes is a click (no need to comment at all unless you really want to) on your favourite piece, and then you are done. About a minute of your time in total! We need voters, so come and vote and then encourage your friends to do the same! The poll will be up for a few more days, maybe a week, despite the deadline mentioned in the contest journal - simply because we need more votes.
2) My-Soul-Bleeds-Ink 's challenge poll.
This poll can be found here: my-soul-bleeds-ink.deviantart.…
This is a poll where you decide what poetry form My-Soul-Bleeds-Ink is going to tackle during August/September. We've had a nice medium response so far, (eight votes) but if you're interested in participating in the challenge (and maybe being crowned the winner and having your piece featured at the top of every journal until the next winner is crowned) please vote on your choice of form. This poll will be up for about another week or so, to get a good lot of votes in, before we start.
Then...some features:
Amarantheans recently held the Awareness of the Arts contest through her group OurDreamsWillCome and the winners were announced just the other day.

Ciao,

Contest Winner's Feature Journal
WELCOME TO
MAGICALJOEY'S CONTEST WINNERS' FEATURE JOURNAL
What this is
I sent out a status plea to anyone who I had promised prizes to in contests and this journal is the result of several people's replies. I still think there are more that I owe, but I cannot remember so if you do not contact me sorry for you I can't remember :?
There are three contests I owe features to, but only one featured here. Two by the fantastic LadyLincoln (https://www.deviantart.com/ladylincoln) and one from NaPoWriMo (https://www.deviantart.com/napowrimo) (which was in April people...that is how behind I am!) This here is the NaPoWriMo Feature only, because it is a mile and a half long and is taking me forever to put together with my phy
MagicalJoey's Anthology Journal - #WinnerTime
Why hello you lovely person lurking in the background reading this pretty, giffy journal. While I know you're introverted (like me) and prefer to hide under the blankets, I dare you to step forward because I have a treat for you. What type of treat you ask? Well, while I don't have candy, cake or oreos, I do have a contest. Contest? Did I say contest? Why yes I did! You've arrived at the wonderful home of what I like to term:
While the idea isn't entirely an original one, a few years ago I decided that I wanted to host a poetry contest that promotes the writing of poetry. And what better way to do so than by holding an Anthology Contest - I

Funding Out of Hospital Stay...a BIG bit of BEGGIN
So, as some of you know I ended up in hospital on May 21st. I will finally be leaving this Sunday, June 24th. While it was a culmination of things, which I will unpack, it started with an infection.
I had lost my job Aug 2017 and Oct 2017 suffered a mental relapse that saw me institutionalized for almost three weeks. I lost my job because I have severe skin infections; nasty, pus-filled, smelly infections, and the infections raised my sugar levels (I am diabetic) so I was in hospital for a week. After getting sugars from 28 down to 10, they continued to dip and dropped between 4 and 1, often at work. Work did not like me changing my shifted
