Dance
30-03-12

The rain petted the ground
With sensuous, soft strokes.
Like a persistent lover
It tickled the grass gently.
It's voice soothed the flowers
Into nakedness;
It undressed them
As petals peeled off.

It's coat covered the trees,
Warming them in careful kindness.
Hand-in-hand, lip-to-lip;
The rain coyly courts the leaves.
Tracing soft tickles down branched hands,
Barren trees wake with trembling roots.
Singing gently, the rain's hiss whispers
A sweet song;
Come dance with me.

Abandon your shyness.
Let me clothe you with whispering water,
Tickle your soul gently,
Awaken your senses.

Come dance with the rain.
This came about due to me misreading something someone wrote. (I read 'petted' instead of 'pelted').
