My heart, it won't stop beating,
No matter what I try,
And my lungs, they won't stop breathing,
Even when I start to cry.

My arms, they won't stop longing,
For your teeny, tiny, touch,
And my mind, it won't stop wand'ring
Why I wasn't good enough.

My fingers flex 'forgiveness',
A plaintive, pitiful plea,
While eyes beg just for darkness
To hide what they never more will see.
